Young handball players spend the night at Düsseldorf Youth Hostel

The 2024 European Handball Championship kicks off in Germany on 10/01/2024. The city of Düsseldorf in particular is already in handball fever - not only because the opening match „Germany - Switzerland“ will be played in front of more than 50,000 spectators in the MERKUR Spielarena, but also because eight European handball teams from the male youth programme will be playing for the title at the German International Youth Championships (GIYC) in the run-up to the event. And where will the handball stars of tomorrow be staying? In the Düsseldorf Youth Hostel.

This year, eight B-youth teams from Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Slovenia and Spain will be competing for the title at Sportpark Niederheid from 8 to 10 January: Füchse Berlin, TSV Bayer Dormagen, SC Magdeburg, Rhein-Neckar Löwen, GOG Håndbold (Denmark), Önnereds HK (Sweden), RK Celje (Slovenia) and Club Balonmano Granollers (Spain). Admission to the games is free, and all games will also be livestreamed by Sprungwurf.tv via Twitch.
