General Meeting 2024 in the Düsseldorf Youth Hostel

This year's general meeting of the DJH Rhineland regional association took place on 28 September. Ludwig B. Lühl, Chairman of the Board of the Youth Hostels in the Rhineland, welcomed the delegates in the morning at Düsseldorf Youth Hostel. After the usual formalities such as the annual report of the Executive Board, the adoption of the annual financial statements and the auditor's report, those present were treated to a presentation by Gabriela Zimmermann.

Sustainability concept of the DJH Rhineland

The managing partner of „ipu fit for success“ gave an informative presentation on the topic of sustainability at the DJH Rhineland regional association, which was the first regional association in Germany to produce its own sustainability report. The presentation drew a positive balance of the measures already implemented and emphasised the great economic importance for the future of the regional association and its positioning.

Elections to the Executive Board

The next item on the agenda was the election of the Board of Directors. Cornel Hüsch, who was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 2021 for his decades of voluntary work in his home district of Neuss, applied for a further term in office as Deputy Chairman of the Rhineland regional association. He was re-elected with great unanimity. The two assessors Wolfgang Jörg and Margret Vosseler-Deppe were also confirmed in their positions.

Awarded the bronze badge of honour

At the end of the meeting, it was time for a ceremony: Jörg Schneider, who held the position of treasurer from 2014 to 2015 and has served as an honorary auditor at the DJH Rhineland regional association since 2018, was awarded the bronze badge of honour for his commitment.
