Insider tip in December: Harry Potter in Cologne

It has been more than 25 years since the first „Harry Potter“ volume was published. To date, more than 500 million copies of the books have been sold worldwide and translated into 80 languages. And even today, Harry, Ron and Hermione continue to inspire young and adult readers alike. There is now a special exhibition in Cologne for particularly big fans of the series about the Hogwarts School of Magic and Witchcraft: the Odysseum in Cologne is showing the interactive Harry Potter exhibition „Visions of Magic“ until 2 June 2024.

3,000 square metres full of magical settings
The „Harry Potter: Visions of Magic“ exhibition is celebrating its world premiere at the Odysseum in Cologne. On over 3,000 square metres, you can discover some of the most mysterious places in the Wizarding World™, including the Room of Requirement, Newt's Menagerie and the Ministry of Magic. Interactive video content, impressive architecture and unique soundscapes create impressive installations that appeal to all the senses and allow you to become part of a magical journey. At the same time, the interactive technology invites you to unveil the unseen and bring visions of magic to life all around you.

Secure tickets now
The rush to the Tickets for the exhibition is large. However, you will find many free dates from the end of March, including at weekends. Admission to the exhibition starts at 20.90 euros per person and is recommended for all Harry Potter fans aged 12 and over. Travelling from out of town? Why not combine your visit with a city trip to Cologne? Cologne Cathedral and the zoo are also popular attractions for families. In the youth hostels Cologne-Riehl and Cologne-Deutz you will not only find a family-friendly place to stay overnight, with the Offer „3 for 2“ the city trip is also particularly affordable: the third night in a family room is free with this offer.

Harry Potter on holiday? Off to „Mogwarts“!
There will also be a world premiere at the youth hostel holiday camps in the Rhineland. The new „Mogwarts for Muggles“ holiday programme will take place for the first time in 2024 at Monschau Castle Youth Hostel. The programme is all about wizardry, fantastic animal creatures and the favourite sport of Quidditch. At the end of the programme, everyone can look forward to the magical house party with a magic show. You can find more information on the Page of Burg-Monschau Youth Hostel and on www.jh-ferien.de.
