Today is European Emergency Call Day
Did you know that you can dial 112 throughout Europe in an emergency? This single number was introduced back in 1991 in addition to the national emergency numbers, in particular to make emergency services easier to reach for travellers. Finally, in 2009, the European Emergency Call Day was launched on 11 February to make this single emergency number more visible.
60 years of young firefighters
In keeping with this commemorative day, we would like to introduce you to a special offer today. As the German Youth Fire Brigade is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, the youth hostels have created a special offer aimed exclusively at youth fire brigades. As a thank you for their great commitment, junior fire brigades can stay in three youth hostels in the Rhineland - the Youth Hostels Brüggen, Food and Wipperfürth - spend an eventful weekend.
112 - Youth fire brigade special
The offer includes two nights' accommodation in a shared room, bed linen, meals and a cosy get-together around the campfire with stick bread or marshmallows for just 112.00 euros per person. The youth hostel Wipperfürth also offers all youth fire brigades a visit to the nature climbing garden as part of a booking.
