Good for the head and the climate
Healthy, wholesome meals are not only important for our bodies, but also increase our ability to concentrate. Catering can make an important contribution to the success of an event, especially at conferences and seminars where participants have to stay focused for several hours. At Düsseldorf Youth Hostel, head chef Susann Losseff emphasises healthy and balanced cuisine with a majority of meat-free alternatives. This is also good for the environment and meets the desire of many conference groups for sustainable conference catering.
„Sustainable catering is more than just a trend for conference organisers. Ecological responsibility is taken very seriously in the industry and there is an increasing demand for creative concepts for healthy and resource-saving conference catering. This includes, above all, vegan and vegetarian conference catering. I am naturally delighted about the increased demand. Because meat-free catering is not only environmentally friendly, but also encourages participants to gain new culinary experiences and promote their health.“

Oliver Mirring, Managing Director of Jugendherbegen im Rheinland, supports Susann Losseff's commitment. He wants to lead the regional association towards climate neutrality in the coming years and knows: „Climate protection starts with food.“ The regional association is therefore currently working on a cookbook in which Susann Losseff presents her favourite vegetarian and vegan recipes. „The dishes designed by Susann Losseff make it very easy to give up meat and other animal products from time to time, to eat healthily and thus reduce CO2-footprint,“ says Oliver Mirring.
