Making a fire, carving, collecting wild herbs

We light our fire in the fireplace with a match, we buy our herbs and salads in the supermarket and we don't have to worry about a roof over our heads. But what happens when all of that disappears and we have to get by in the wilderness without any tools?

How does that actually work?

At the „Wilderness knowledge weekend“ at Bad Münstereifel youth hostel families and individual parents travelling with children aged 6 and over learn how to make a fire, build a shelter bivouac in the forest, which plants you can eat and much more. The whole programme is led by the wilderness professionals from the Belz Wilderness School with 20 years of experience. Depending on the weather, the programme also includes archery, burning embers, carving amulets, orienteering, sneaking and reading tracks.

Sounds good? There are still a few places available for the Wilderness Knowledge Weekend from 17.11.-19.11.2023. You can find more information on bad-muenstereifel.jugendherberge.de and from our Rhineland Service Team, Tel. 0211 - 3026 3026, e-mail service@djh-rheinland.de.
