Magical holiday camps with four new programmes

During the Easter, summer and autumn holidays, the youth hostels in the Rhineland offer a wide range of varied holiday camps for kids and teens aged between 6 and 16. In addition to tried and tested classics, there are also four new programmes. Which is your favourite?

Off to Mogwarts Castle!

For kids, 7-12 years
In the 2024 summer holidays, Monschau Castle Youth Hostel will be transformed into the castle „Mogwarts for Muggles„. Here, magic tricks are learnt, potions are brewed using secret recipes from herbs collected by the children themselves and traces of fantastic animal creatures are sought. Participants can also look forward to numerous team tasks and an exciting game of Quidditch. Who will win the house cup in the end?

Cast off for canoe and river pirates

For teens, 8-13 years
Next year, the Brüggen Youth Hostel will be hosting „Ahoy on the Lower Rhine“. Summer holiday dreams come true in various bodies of water such as the Hariksee, the Heidweiher and the Schwalm, e.g. on a canoe tour in a team canoe, a pedal boat regatta, stand-up paddling or a trip on the self-built rafts. In the evenings, things get extraordinarily cosy around the campfire, with carving, spinning nautical yarn and practising the Morse alphabet.

Get your licence to learn!

For teens, 11-15 years
The former German capital Bonn used to be the scene of exciting espionage cases. Together with secret agent James Bonn, you'll be travelling through the „Licence2learn“ back in time and learn all sorts of useful things: decoding, sneaking, orientation and shadowing. English is spoken throughout, so that you can improve your English skills in a fun way. Attention: Definitely not a classic language course!

Mission Possible

For kids, 10-14 years
When did inventors change the world with what? At this holiday camp, you will go on a journey of discovery and explore what was, is and will be possible. Food from the 3D printer, travelling by hyperloop, thinking clothes and much more will be explored in the future workshop at Hellenthal Youth Hostel.„Mission Possible“. This involves researching, discussing, experimenting and trying things out. Experiential educational activities in the youth hostel's covered high ropes course, exit games and in the construction forest provide even more fun and variety.
