Today is Waffle Day

Today we are celebrating Waffle Day - and what could be more fitting than our recipe for delicious Bergisch waffles from the Radevormwald Youth Hostel? It seats 100 people, making it ideal for large events such as school parties or club celebrations.

Bergische waffles for 100 people

Ingredients:
✅ 5 kg flour
✅ 2.5 kg sugar
✅ 50 eggs
✅ 5 litres of milk
2.5 kg butter (melted)
✅ 5 packets of baking powder
✅ 5 sachets of vanilla sugar
✅ 1 tsp salt

Preparation:
1️⃣ Beat the eggs and sugar until frothy.
2️⃣ Stir in the melted butter and milk.
3️⃣ Mix the flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar and salt and add slowly.
4️⃣ Mix the batter well until it is smooth.
5️⃣ Preheat the waffle iron and bake the waffles until golden brown.

Tip from the youth hostel: Serve the waffles classically with cherries & cream or with your favourite fruit. Enjoy your meal!
