Good for the head and the climate

Healthy, wholesome meals are not only important for our body, but also increase our ability to concentrate. This is important for anyone who has to study a lot and stay focussed for several hours at a time. At Düsseldorf Youth Hostel, head chef Susann Losseff emphasises healthy and balanced cuisine with mostly meat-free alternatives. This is also good for the environment and fulfils the wish of many guests for sustainable catering.

Oliver Mirring, Managing Director of Jugendherbegen im Rheinland, supports Susann Losseff's commitment. He wants to lead the regional association towards climate neutrality in the coming years and knows: „Climate protection starts with food.“ The regional association is therefore currently working on a cookbook in which Susann Losseff presents her favourite vegetarian and vegan recipes. „The dishes designed by Susann Losseff make it very easy to give up meat and other animal products from time to time, to eat healthily and thus reduce CO2-footprint,“ says Oliver Mirring.
