Cooking with Shaun the Sheep in Düsseldorf
Shaun the Sheep is back in action - this time directly on site at Düsseldorf Youth Hostel. In the second episode of the „Tasty treats from the youth hostels“ series, chef Susann Losseff meets up-and-coming chef Zoe. Together they prepare a colourful three-course meal for the whole family - inspired by viewer Maja, who remembers her school trip and freshly baked potato pancakes.
The result is a colourful, uncomplicated combination of fresh ingredients and popular classics - perfect for cooking at home.
The menu from the youth hostel kitchen:
Appetiser: Colourful power salad
Avocado, mango, orange and mozzarella provide fruity freshness. The salad is dressed with lemon-orange juice, coriander and rapeseed oil and can be prepared in no time at all.
Main course: Gold pieces from the pan - potato pancakes
Simple, crispy and always popular: potato pancakes are made from grated potatoes, onions, eggs and a little flour. Fried in a pan until golden brown, they are reminiscent of many wonderful youth hostel moments. They taste particularly good with apple sauce.
Dessert: Rice pudding casserole „Ofenglück“
Creamy rice pudding with apples, sultanas, grated coconut and cinnamon - this casserole really lives up to its name. It is baked in the oven for 20 minutes at the end and brings a cosy warmth to your plate.
