From there, it first leads along the Rursee lake and through the Eifel National Park, and later along the Urftsee lake - always with marvellous views of the water and the wooded hilly landscape.

Special highlights along the route include the National Park Gate and the medieval Hengebach Castle in Heimbach. The Art Nouveau power station can also be visited as part of public guided tours.
